About Claire Cox Photography
Hello!
I'm Claire, welcome to my website. I am a skilled photographer, I have worked professionally for over 15 years. Photography, painting and all creative mediums have long been my passions. My photography journey began with my studies in 2004, graduating in 2008. Since then I have photographed a variety of genres - press, sports, portraiture, preforming arts, animals and weddings.
Along side my business I work as a photography lecturer at Edinburgh College, where I get the pleasure of inspiring young people into photography and supporting them in their education.
I love people, families and real moments so wedding photography and portraiture has become "my thing" allowing me document those special moments so they can be cherished for years to come.
How I work
My style of photography combines mixture of reportage with creative portraiture, I would best describe it as natural and artistic yet timeless. I document wedding celebrations as they unfold with an unobtrusive manner and 'fly on the wall' approach.
Generally I like to observe rather than direct events, capturing the real moments as they unfold. Resulting in images that reflect the true essence of the day. Where required I will give prompts and encourage some uneasy posing to get the most out of your couple shots.
I have always had a passion for photojournalism and draw inspiration from the masters of this genre, such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliot Erwitt, Sebastiao Salgado, Eve Arnold and Steve McCurry.
This is your day, lets have fun and make memories.
